Crude oil prices settle Monday
May 11, 2009 (United Press International) -- Crude oil prices settled down Monday on the New York Mercantile Exchange after a week of gains pushed traders to sell for profit.
Crude oil prices jumped 7 percent Monday through Friday last week. The quick escalation turned a buying market to a selling market.
Crude oil prices fell 27 cents Monday to $58.18 per barrel. Heating oil prices rose 0.036 cents to $1.5475 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline fell 0.0285 cents to $1.67 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.004 cents to $4.344 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.226 Monday, up from Sunday's $2.213 a gallon, AAA said.
